What “No Sugar Added” Means at Sweet Escape

Sweet Escape's Memphis catalogs include a category called No Sugar Added. That label can be helpful when comparing choices, but it does not mean the same thing as sugar free, zero total sugar, or suitable for every dietary need. Here is how to read the wording, find the documented options, and check what is currently listed before visiting the shop.

No sugar added is not the same as sugar free

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration explains that Total Sugars includes sugars naturally present in foods such as milk, plus any added sugars. Added Sugars covers sugars introduced during processing. A no-sugar-added label therefore addresses what was added during production; it does not promise that the finished dessert has no total sugar.

Find the label in two Sweet Escape catalogs

The hand-dipped flavor catalog has three entries in its No Sugar Added category: Butter Pecan, Chocolate Moose Tracks, and Country Apple. Their published labels each show 0 grams of added sugars per 2/3-cup serving, while Total Sugars is listed as 7, 5, and 6 grams respectively. Those numbers make the distinction between added and total sugars visible on the product cards.

The frozen yogurt catalog also has three No Sugar Added entries: Chocolate, Tahitian Vanilla (NSA), and Wild Strawberry. Each has its own ingredient list, allergen declaration, facility note, and manufacturer nutrition label. The catalog is a reference library, not a promise that all six documented choices are available at the same time.

Check the current lineup separately

Use the live in-stock menu to answer the daily availability question. In the stock snapshot used for this article, updated September 3, 2026, Tahitian Vanilla (NSA) was the no-sugar-added option listed under Yogurt. The lineup can change after publication, so check the page's current update time instead of treating this dated example as a permanent availability claim.

Read the entire product card

A category label answers only one question. For example, Sweet Escape's three documented no-sugar-added yogurt ingredient lists include milk, maltodextrin, sorbitol, and sucralose. The hand-dipped listings have different declared allergens: Butter Pecan lists milk and pecans; Chocolate Moose Tracks lists milk, peanuts, and soy; and Country Apple lists milk. Their equipment notes name additional cross-contact concerns.

Read the current container label when ingredients or allergens matter. Formulas and handling can change, and neither the words No Sugar Added nor an online filter result guarantees dietary suitability, allergy safety, calorie content, or freedom from cross-contact. The frozen-dessert comparison has more guidance on using category names and individual product details together.
